Reiki

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement. It is a gentle yet powerful therapy that may be used alongside traditional health care.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words: “Rei” which means “Higher Power”, and “Ki” which means “life force energy”. Rei can be defined as the Higher Power that guides the creation and functioning of the Universe. Ki is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. Ki is flowing in everything that is alive (ie: plants, animals and humans).

Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. It is known as “ki” in Japan, “chi” in China and “prana” in India.

remote energy healing treatments

As Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us causing us to be alive, a reiki therapist can channel energy into the patient, activating the natural healing processes of the patient’s body to restore physical and emotional well-being.

The life force energy is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts attach themselves to our energetic field, causing a disruption in the energy flow.

When a person’s Ki is high, they feel happy, strong and ready to enjoy life. When it is low, they will feel weak and will be more likely to get sick. Reiki heals flowing through the affected parts of the energy field, charging them with positive energy.
